My New Neighbor Nazz

@ Book Island

At last, now I have two virtual properties under my dominion (cue maniacal laughter).  Soon I shall rule the metaverse!  But seriously…

Many of you already know about my End of Mae Virtual Visitor Center, and you may remember my recently discovered networking bonanza called Book Island.  I’m happy to announce that now I have a shop there too.

This place is bursting at the seams with all kinds of authors; traditional, indie and impending.  There’s also a plethora of publishers, reviewers, journalists, bloggers, illustrators, photographers… you get the idea.  They have regular workshops, classes, live readings and ample social opportunities.  All this is packaged in a great setting with a focus on all things loved by the literary set, namely coffee shops, parks, bars and books stores.

Today I got to meet my new neighbor, Nazz Lane, and was exploring his blog and books.  We had a nice chat out on the sidewalk between our shops… the fact that we were on opposite sides of the world is of no consequence.  We’re still neighbors.

This is why I love the metaverse.  These aren’t games.  Whether you are in WoW, Second Life or Farmville, behind every avatar is a real person.  The metaverse enables me to chat daily with people all over the globe, perform a live reading in my pajamas… and make great new friends like Nazz.

See my recent post on Book Island or explore it  for yourself.  If you’re curious about my neighbors in Australia,  I featured them in a recent writing prompt.  I prefer Nazz.
