I may have found my perfect laundry detergent.
Last Saturday I worked next to a woman demonstrating Ecos Plus, an all natural detergent with built in fabric softener.
The label touts it as being free of petrochemicals, formaldehyde and dioxane. Made for high efficiency machines as well as regular washers so it’s good for anyone to use.
The soap strives to be “the purest, greenest and most effective 100% natural detergent”. Made of plant based ingredients including organic lavender and good for all temperatures… I was interested in trying it but I had one major concern – does it work?
Standing next to the Ecos Plus representative all day gave me a chance to see all the return customers. Many people were walking up and saying that they loved the soap and it works great. They were buying bottles to share with friends and family. That was enough for me to grab my own bottle and see for myself how well this green cleaner worked.
I decided to test its capabilities out on something really tough – a stained bathroom rug. As you can see in the photo, this rug had turned nearly brown from ground in dirt. It was a neglected casualty of moving in. I thought it may be ruined which made it the perfect candidate for my experiment.
I used the recommended amount of detergent, washed in cold water like usual and used no bleach (we don’t even have it in the house). You can see for yourself the results… in one wash the Ecos Plus got my grimy rug looking new and white again. I’m satisfied and join my name to all the enthusiastic customers that have switched over.
My clothes are clean and stain free without feeling guilty about dumping more chemicals into our already taxed water tables.
It’s not expensive either. I paid $13 for a large 6 liter plus bottle that does 126 standard loads and 252 HE loads. All this with the lovely smell of lavender wafting thru the laundry room.
Be green, save green and have your clothes clean? I’m highly recommending Ecos Plus to anyone with dirty laundry… and that’s all of us.
