This week I’m celebrating:

1. Haiku! I’m having so much fun with these little, literary nuggets 🙂

2. First archery tourney of the year is tomorrow – excited to see how much worse I’ve gotten over the winter.

3. Got invited to a Chinese New Year celebration yesterday. I had so much fun, learned some interesting new things and got great photos. I think I may try to learn Chinese as a second language.

4. Artful Things in Niceville is now carrying paperback copies of The Christmas Spiders!

What are you celebrating?

Here is todays Writer Haiku…

  1. Hi Angela. I’m with the “celebrate the small things” blog-hop. I thought you were on this blog hop. Oops, I may be here by mistake, and will re-check the link.
However, I do like your Haiku – the three I read. Very nice. Hope you have a lovely weekend. (smile)

    1. Dixie… I am just getting the hang of this blog hop on Friday. I fixed my post to reflect my celebrations this week and am marking it in my schedule so I won’t forget from now on. Thanks for the haiku comments and I hope you have a great weekend as well!

  2. Love your haiku! I’ve tried to write some and appreciate how complex the task to get it just right in so few words. I came to your blog from Alexa’s blog hop. Today I’m celebrating my art students’ work, but I later I’ll have more things to celebrate in connection with my book that will be published in June. I visited your books, and they look quite interesting.

  3. Archery! How fun 🙂 I haven’t done that in years!
I’m celebrating warming weather, and a weekend of writing, reading, and some social. I’m pretending I’ve hit the perfect balance of work/play for the weekend…we’ll see if it holds up.

  4. I have great respect for anyone who can write haiku or any kind of poetry. Good luck on the archery tourney. I’m glad you had a good time at the Chinese NY celebration. Your book looks adorable – and it’s awesome that Artful Things is carrying it! Have a lovely weekend. 🙂

  5. I should be here right now.,
In this city where the war…
The reserve of strength has almost completely dried up,
The one that the Lord gave me.

I need to save the children,
    From Nazi mines and rockets,
So that they can continue to grow,
    Where there is no evil.

It’s scary for me to be in the enemy’s sights,
    I remember my family…
And I scold myself for being weak,
And it gets harder for me.

But clutching the cross to his chest,
I felt a wave behind my back,
After all, there is always hope,
And the Lord will give you more strength.

That’s really close to my goal,
Well, let me be weak now,
I pray, saying to myself: believe!
And the victorious hour will come

We will protect the country – we will protect our children – our future
