My favorite poem is The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes. I feel compelled to share it this April in honor of National Poetry Month. Last year I found a brilliant artist named Mary Anne Leslie who does amazing and precise images that remind me of stained glass and holy places. This year I have found a new way to enjoy my favorite poem on a site called Soundcloud where you can hear all sorts of good things, including The Highwayman set to music and sung by a beautiful woman.
Between Mary Anne’s artwork, Loreena McKennitt’s singing and the words originally set to paper by Noyes I have the perfect poetical trifecta.

I’m not a poet. Often I find it difficult to interrupt what the poem means, but this I understood perfectly and what a sad story it tells. I liked how it’s set to music. It really added to the enjoyment!
