Book PileHey you April Fools!

Rather than try to play a joke on you (because I know my readers would all be far too smart to fall for pranks) I’ll share a piece of April Fool’s inspired “microfiction” I just wrote.

This is for the Facebook Group Microfiction Madness. The goal is to write, in 100 words or less, “A new beginning with (an) unexpected event(s) or consequence(s).” This is my first time to write for this, and it will definitely not be my last.

“Well played,” she answered with a giggle. “You had me fooled!” And she laughed until the end.
