Good writing day today. I did get The Braid first draft finished and tomorrow morning I’ll be polishing and cutting it before I send it off to a very special beta reader.

Then comes all the fun of figuring out where it’s going to go:) Originally I planned to release it as a short story ebook on Amazon, but this one may have a different future.

Here’s a peek at one of my favorite bits:

Cambria,” came a soft whisper. “Please let me out. She’s in here with me.” Cambria held the knob tighter, unable to answer. Her eyes traveled from the knob, the blood drained from her hands as she held tight, to the bottom of the door. Her feet felt vulnerable against the crack. As if sensing her eyes there, a whisper came up, barely audible, but Cambria imagined she could feel breath against her toes.

Please let me out,” Missy whispered. “The lady with the braid is in my room and she’s not funny anymore.” Cambria squeezed her eyes tight as tears escaped to trickle coldly down her cheeks. She gripped the knob even tighter and felt the metal turn frigid in her hands. She opened her eyes in surprise to see tentacles of frost forming a frozen web against the door, radiating from the knob she held. Cambria squeezed her eyes shut again. Please let me get out of this and I swear I will never babysit again.
