A few days ago I discussed the importance of monchu. Today I am taking a break from my laptop to spend time with my monchu man, Mr. Smith.
How did I wind up being paired with this amazing man? He rides a motorcycle, will soon have his second degree black belt and is the 7 state Songham Taekwondo District Champion in the south east region in Traditional Forms, Traditional Weapon Forms and Combat Weapon Sparring. He’s also Australian, so he sounds as good as he looks.
As if this weren’t all enough, our temperaments are matched, we have the same sense of humor, goals and dreams. He stepped in and took on my three, unruly teenagers and has been a positive influence in their lives. We have matching back tattoos. In my mind, few things are as romantic as matching tattoos.
I just wanted to take a few minutes today to thank my husband and tell him how proud I am of him. I try to maintain privacy for my family and seldom mention them publicly, but without their support, I couldn’t do any of this.
We can’t celebrate Father’s Day Sunday because he’s working, so today belongs to Mr. Smith.
