I can never resist a challenge! I was nominated to take part in the 777 Challenge by A. F. Stewart, an accomplished author I love at Xchyler Publishing—and I accept!
The 777 Challenge gauntlet has been thrown, and to beat it I have to share 7 lines from page 7 of one of my manuscripts and challenge 7 others authors to do the same.
My newest manuscript is The Heaven Grift, a short story ebook due to be released exclusively on Amazon on Sept. 1. Since mine is a short and page 7 is the last paragraph, I modified the rules and am sharing 7 lines from my 7th paragraph.
The Heaven Grift takes place before the legendary Pearly Gates and is an exchange between the Check-In Angel and a new arrival. Seems like no matter where you travel anymore, there’s sure to be complications.
Excerpt from The Heaven Grift:
“Ma’am, with all due respect, everyone that’s not evil gets a Passcard automatically at death. Contrary to what you’ve been told while you were alive, it doesn’t matter what religion, race or sexual orientation you have been practicing. Please rifle your pockets and give me your Passcard so I can let you go through to your paradise.” He leaned over the counter and held out his hand, his tone clearly expressing that he thought very little respect was, indeed, due.
If you enjoyed my 7 lines, watch for the release of The Heaven Grift Sept. 1 on Amazon. You can subscribe to my Amazon page to receive notifications via email. And now, my nominations… the envelope please!
I nominate Lexa Cain, Crystal Bozeman Clifton, Anne Sanders, Jocelyn Foster Donahoo, Mysti Parker, Eleanor Cawood Jones and Melanie Lane to take part in the 777 Challenge by sharing their 7 lines on their Facebook or blog (or both!) and nominating 7 more authors.
