Every year I have had the privilege of having a story in the annual Christmas Lites anthology. The money raised from the sale of this book always goes goes directly to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV).
None of the authors and artists that contributed their time, work and effort receives anything from this book save the knowledge that we are making a difference in those affected by domestic violence.
The first year I contributed I did it because it seemed like a nice thing to do. By the second year, I had become a victim of domestic violence personally, with my children, and the anthology became something very dear to me. My children and I have all moved on and become stronger since then, though healing continues.
The sales of this book benefit those that are still in the midst of the storm, who see it on the horizon or who have made it through but are still recovering. The book is not the lighthouse, we just hope to help keep the lights shining brightly.
Amy Eye has done a wonderful job again of formatting, editing, organizing, selecting work… as always. Christmas Lites is her baby from the beginning and she has raised it to what it is now. The cover is the brilliant work of Wesley Souza.
You can purchase the ebook version on Amazon now and the paperback version will be on Amazon asap with it also available on Createspace now. I urge you to purchase copies of Christmas Lites V and the previous four books. Not only will you be treated to fine tales from a variety of new and established authors in multiple genre, but you will be supporting families that have been torn by violence from those they love and trust.
The authors that have contributed are:
Monica La Porta
Tiffany Michelle Brown
Angela Yuriko Smith
