“Vanilla Rice” Reading at TV Dinner Theatre

draft-where-the-stars-rise-205x300It’s the first Friday of the month, and that means it’s time for TV Dinner Theatre at Cafe Bienville, 314 Bayshore Dr., Niceville! Come, entertain and compete for cash and other prizes beginning at 6 p.m. Please arrive earlier if you would like to order something from the menu.

This Friday I’m excited to read my short story, “Vanilla Rice,” which was recently accepted for publication in the “Where the Stars Rise Anthology,” due to be published in Fall 2017. I had to stretch myself with this one as the anthology editors were looking for sci-fi with Asian themes, but not the usual tentacle robot manga.

“Vanilla Rice” is set in a bleak, consumer driven world where everything is a product. Against this backdrop a mother sets her heart on raising the perfect child–and fulfilling the fantasy of who she wishes she was. Sometimes, Mother doesn’t know best.

I look forward to sharing “Vanilla Rice” tomorrow night! All are welcome to listen and perform!
