Big Stuff in the Works!

I have been away from my blog for about a week now, but I have some good excuses. I’ve been working on some big projects. The first is my long promised Marketing Your Creativity class online!

This is the same workshop I’ve been teaching this past summer with more material. One of the hardest things about the workshops is trying to cram so much material in such a short time. Set to open Monday, the online class will allow participants to learn at their own pace and review as often as they want.

I will be posting the link to sign up for it Monday, or get on my email list now and be notified in your inbox. I’ll be sending a discount code for both my classes to my email list later this week. Sign up for that here.

Robin Wiesneth tells visitors the story of The Literary Lizard

Another BIG announcement is that there will be two new children’s books out within the next month. Truman the Tarantula, the eagerly anticipated third book in the Literary Lizard series will be released in September.

Illustrated by Robin Wiesneth, Truman is a tarantula that gets out in the library. As you can imagine, the librarians are not thrilled. Fortunately our hero, Lit Lizard, keeps an open mind and discovers what is irking Truman. You can read an interview I did with Robin here.

If that were not enough, the newest book in the Everywhere series will also be released. Spiders Are Everywhere is the follow up to Monsters Are Everywhere. This officially launches a new line of books with 10 in production at this moment. Spiders Are Everywhere is illustrated by talented newcomer Amber Beach. You can read an interview I did with Amber here.

Meet Everly Everywhere

There will be a new character in the WordSmith house as well. Everly Everywhere is a curious mouse always exploring. His first book, Everly Is Everywhere, will join the Everywhere series and Everly will be introducing each story as well as starring in a few. Created by my husband, R.A. Smith and I, we are looking forward to having fun with this little guy.

Speaking of the WordSmith household, my youngest son, Aaron, will be releasing his first book of poetry and essay in September as well. The writing bug has bitten him hard, and it’s been gratifying to see him fall in love with words.

Another new book is about to be released as well. My friend Laura Kester Duerrwaechter is about to publish her second poetry collection, You Know Me and You Don’t.

Congratulations to all of my creative monchu tonight as we celebrate bringing forth new work!
