With each pickle or jam purchase customers will receive a selected contributor poem printed on high quality paper. My poem will also be included, randomly, with orders of artisan pickles and jam The Pickling Poet sends out. And, if the The Pickling Poet likes my poem enough, it may be selected for an anthology they will publish annually.
Origami People is a pantuom I wrote that compares a certain type of person to being folded from yesterday’s news. I love origami. The sharp folds define it. The creations are angular and easily torn, but we treat them carefully to let them keep their shape.
I think everyone knows someone that is sharp and full of gossip. They are quick to criticize, but if the tables turn they crumple. We tend to let this person slip in and out of our lives without much impact. Like a paper creation, they carry little weight. They are “origami people.”
Keep an eye on this new company with some interesting ideas. I just made my first order from The Pickling Poet, so I look forward to sharing the experience here. Submissions are now closed for this issue of Brine, but there will be another submission call soon. I will keep you posted.
