My prompt inspired poem, She Waits, went up on Nina D’Arcangela’s blog for the Ladies of Horror Picture-Prompt Writing Challenge. You can find the poem here.
But wait! There’s more… You can also hear native Australian (and my hubby) read She Waits on the player below.
You can find R.A. Smith on Facebook | on Twitter | and Instagram.

Love Ryan’s voice (natch!) and his reading is smooth, cryptic and clear –adding to the shock. Please tell him BRAVO for me. I have a pet peeve about most people reading poetry — their voices fall into the same cadence for every poem, which often ruins the poem and they don’t see that.
How did I miss this comment? This has been a busy… whatever… since Stokers. I’m just now catching up, I think.
When I say “Cryptic” I meant with ominous or sinister suggestion — putting “clear” with that might be misleading but I meant his voice and enunciation are clear.
Thank you! He does love reading, narration and voice work, and I’m lucky I married a man who loves reading, narration and voice work!
