On the twelfth day of Halloween my true love gave to me… a reading of “No More Sunday Drives.” Again written for Nina D’Arcangela‘s Ladies of Horror monthly photo prompt, this also appears nowhere else but her blog Spreading the Writer’s Word.
Why did I write it? I think Nina really went through a stage where she was testing our ability to make storm clouds out of rainbows. She sent me a photo of a pretty nice old house with a nice 20s era car on the lawn. The image is more Rockefeller than run-for-your-life.
There has to be a body somewhere, I thought. I pictured an old man who had passed away in his chair while staring out the window at the love of his life. Not really scary, but the best I could do at the time.
This is “No More Sunday Drives,” written by me and performed by Ryan Aussie Smith.

This one really grabbed me! Thank you both, excellent reading(s), Ryan Aussie Smith!
I’ll make sure he knows. He certainly has been making use of that recording room. No regrets there. Thank you, Marge 🙂
