To be honest, I began this romance attempt without a lot of faith that I’d finish. But here I am, the first week in and a quarter of the way done. And, believe it or not, I am loving it. Complete honesty, it’s got a lot of dark humor. What can you expect from a story about a newbie witch in mid-life crisis and an exhausted but amiable incubus? Turns out, I’m enjoying myself.
Tonight was a tough writing session. My very part time library job has gotten temporarily intense with so many people out. Today I followed a busy working day to try to meet my wordcount for NaNoWriMo while trying not to get caught up in election news. Otherwise, the week has been smooth and the story is so fun I’ve been hitting over my goals.
And now, I go to bed but not before I leave you with a bedtime story to give you sweet dreams. Listen to Ryan Aussie Smith read the short story that started this darkling romance I now write… also called Soft Deadlines and first published in Trickster’s Treats #3: The Seven Deadly Sins by Things in the Well in 2019. Warning: Mild adult themes.
