The Dog Days of August are here, and thanks to the North Shore Animal League America who names August 1 as the birthday of all shelter dogs across America. So happy birthday to rescue dogs everywhere… our canine six pack will be getting extra treats and scruffs today. 🐾 It’s also my first daughter’s birthday, so an extra special happy birthday to Emily 💖
August looks like it will be a quiet month, and that’s fine by me. Other than Cake & Hyperbull on the 7th, an interview on Sci-Fi Saturday Night along with Scott Noel and a talk for Philadelphia Science Fiction Society I’ll just be catching up on things. I really need a quiet month. Between the news and all the things we are wrapping up, I’m ready for a break.
And, to kick DOGust off in the right frame of mind, below is one of the house canines, Yogi, in the pages of Locus magazine. I think we are his third home. Yogi was originally rescued from a Dachshund fighting organization. He has turned into quite the charmer—from fighting pits to sharing a virtual stage at StokerCon. Read more about DOGust here.
So here’s to August 2021: may it be blissfully dull and uneventful.

SWEET! Yogi doesn’t seem affected by his Fame, does he? I can’t imagine his breed fighting PIT BULLS! I’m sure glad you were able to rescue him. Carry on, Angela!
