Amy’s Surprise

12/18/13 Hey guys!  I’m not exactly sure where our book is on the chain but I don’t think it will make it to Amy on time.  So that we have something to give her on Christmas I’m going to ask for one more favor – can everyone send me a copy of their signature and I will put them into a virtual card announcing our gift that we can give her at Christmas.  I’ll make a card for all of us as well that we can share.  Please send the digital signature to my email at angelayurikosmith (at) gmail.com.

12/8/13 The signature plate turned out so well maybe we should just do it this way instead of trying to mail it.  Thoughts?

12/8/13 This will probably be one of the last updates before our book is sent on its way.  I’m still waiting to hear back from one author, and waiting on what digital signature.

I received a copy of the book yesterday so it will be heading Addison’s way Monday morning.  If I am still waiting on the one signature I’ll print up what I have and include it. When we get the last digi signature it can just be emailed to whoever has the book at the time so they can print and add it.  If I haven’t heard from the last author I’m waiting on we will just move it on to the next person and keep going.  I rearranged the sending schedule a little as I found out locations for some of you were closer to make shipping faster and cheaper.  If you need help getting the address to the person you are shipping to let me know.

Thank you all for coming on board with this… I think Amy will be thrilled with her surprise. 😀

12/5/13  I’ve officially contacted everyone except M.L. Sherwood who has a private identity and Elizabeth Evans because she is Amy’s daughter and will find out and sign with Jonathon Tidball at the last.

This is going to go much faster than I expected because so many of us are overseas.  The overseas authors have two choices, http://www.authorgraph.com/ or if you email me your signature as an image I can print and include that, which might be nicer.

To do that, sign your name with a dark pen on white, unlined paper and either scan or send it to me as a photo.  I can run it through photoshop (or you can and just send me the finished image) and you will have something like this:

 

 

Short messages are fine, but please keep them simple.  If you send a signature to me before I send the book Monday, Dec. 9 I can print and include before I send out.  I leave it to A. F. Stewart and Addison Moore as to if their connection should be considered a slow mail international one.  Names with an * have confirmed participation.

12/4/13 I remembered that not all of us are located in the U.S.  For those of us overseas, it may be best to do a virtual autograph at http://www.authorgraph.com/.  Whoever has someone going overseas could print that, add it to the book and just mail to the next person.

12/3/13 First assignment, get the address for the person you are sending to 😀

We all know and love Amy and appreciate her hard work on not only Christmas Lites but what she does to support authors.  I wanted to give her a really special gift this year and I can think of few things she would love more than a copy of Christmas Lites III autographed by each of us.

With a little organization we can easily accomplish this.  To simplify, I suggest creating a chain where each of us mails the book to the next person on the list after signing it.  I’ll buy the book and send it onto Addison Moore, who will send it on to the next name on the list etc.

For those of you overseas… if your following author is overseas please arrange for them to sign up with  http://www.authorgraph.com/ and send you a digital autograph that you can print and add in the book as a paper.  We won’t have time to mail the book back and forth across the ocean and still have it back in time for Amy.

I put Jonathon Tidball last on the list because I think he lives in the same town as Amy and is a personal friend so he can hand it off to her daughter Elizabeth who can be the last one to sign and give it to her.

Each of us only needs the address of the person we send to, and if we send it on quick enough I think we can have this done in time for Christmas.  I’m putting this text up a webpage that only we will be able to practically find via a direct link.  After you send the book on, please take a minute to leave a comment so we know how far the book has gotten.  I hope to have this started by this weekend.
