My Monster Stalker

My monster schedule...

I am being stalked by a monster.

It’s my fault he’s here.  I called it to me.  I rashly shouted “Bring it on!” to the winds of the world, and this one beast heard, and has answered my challenge.

It came so subtly that at first I didn’t notice it standing in the shadows, wicked teeth gleaming in the monitor light.  I was too busy for monsters… there were interviews to answer, guest posts to write and new photos to play with.

The monster had counted on this; as I tapped away oblivious on the keyboard he was winding his web delicately around me, drawing it ever closer.  I admit, at first I welcomed the feeling of gathering closeness.  It was warming, and made me feel secure.  As his web tightened I found myself being gently pressed ever closer to my computer with a gentle but incessant pull.  It was soon apparent to even me that a trap had been sprung, and the noose I was writing about was around my own neck.

Now I find myself helplessly crushed in a web of my own making.  The monster is the producer, but my own lack of management is the real culprit.  I allowed myself to be distracted, and when we are oblivious to our problems we allow them to grow and dominate us.  There is no one to blame but myself.

Fortunately, monsters make great pets, and this one won’t be the first that I have leash trained.  With a little discipline and scheduling, I’ll soon have this beast sitting docile on my shoulder and performing tricks.  That’s what I’m telling him anyways… he’s starting to look rather hungry so I will post this while I have a chance and see what I can do about…
