Happy National Lactose Intolerance Awareness Month!
This post has two purposes: the first is telling you about Yoplait’s new Lactose Free Yogurt. The second is to test Rafflecopter’s contest system. To do that I’m going to have to give away something. I was sent everything I needed to try the product and review it and I have to say, I’m liking the Yoplait sans lactose. I picked french vanilla to try because it’s a basic indicator – everyone knows what vanilla is supposed to taste like. I expected it to taste chalky or thin but it was full on creamy and delicious. It’s great with granola and oats tossed in for breakfast or blendered up with ice in my protein shake.
Why go lactose free? Because most mammals become lactose intolerant after the wean from their mother’s milk. Humans are some of the only mammals that continue to drink milk into adulthood. Symptoms of lactose intolerance are abdominal bloating and cramps, flatulence, diarrhoea, nausea, rumbling stomach and vomiting. If you suffer from any of these annoying symptoms you may want to see if they correlate with you consuming milk products.
For me, I feel much better without lactose in my diet. I’m not strict with cutting it completely from my diet, but when I do have it I notice I feel all bloaty. Thanks to Yoplait’s new Lactose Free yogurt, I can still have my calcium ;D Yoplait’s Lactose Free comes in Strawberry, Peach, French Vanilla and Cherry flavors.
