Mr. Smith's First Halloween

Between work, the HEART Anthology, the soon to be released Christmas Lites II Anthology and Halloween things over here on Dandilyon Fluff have fallen short.  Since we’ve moved posts have gotten erratic and a whole lot of news has passed unremarked on.

I still compose daily posts… they just seem to stay in my head lately ;p  Things are settling at work and we’ve hired more people so that shouldn’t be as time-consuming as it has been.  I look forward to getting back into my bloggy groove.

A few important announcements: The HEART Animal Rescue Anthology is days away from being released for sale.  It is turning out to be an absolutely stunning book thanks to the expertise of Amy Eye from The Eyes For Editing.  We are so blessed and lucky to have her come on board for this project 😀  Thank you Amy!  Keep watch here and at emberpress.com for the official release.

A few upcoming things with Ember Press – the fledgling fundraising press has finally warranted its own stand alone website which we will be finishing soon.  Mr. Smith will also be taking a much more active role in the company now that we have the first project (almost) under our belt.  We’ve had challenges but this anthology idea has worked so well despite a move, changing jobs, a scattering of emergency room trips by the kids, a few bike accidents by me and the death of a good friend.  We think it’s a winner and are excited to finish this project and get started on the next… after Christmas.

Some big things will be happening in November: I’m challenging myself to finish End of Joon with the whip snapping inspiration of NaNoWriMo.  I was invited to contribute a story to this year’s Christmas Lites II anthology.  There are so many wonderful authors contributing I am thrilled to have been included.  More on this, including a reveal of the GORGEOUS cover (designed by Regina Wamba of Mae I Design and Photography) on November 1st.

There’s a few big announcements coming up as well that I can’t divulge too much info about at this exact moment but I can tell you that I’ve been asked to help with an online webinar/class project with Barbara Becker Holstein to talk about and teach authors to use Second Life for effective marketing.  You can hear the interview I did on her radio show a few months ago to get an idea.

Me, Mr. Smith & the boys have had a busy month and as we move into the mad holiday season I want to regain our focus on what is important in our lives.  For me that is friends, family and using my words ;D.

Write on!
