End of Mae|Leeds Devel|Jersey Devil|Browns Mills|New Jersey|VampireI’ve been having an ongoing discussion about how to boost our book sales.  We all just read or are currently reading “How I Made Over $42,000 in 1 Month Selling My Kindle eBooks” by Cheryl Kaye Tardif.  I enjoyed the book and really feel like I got some good ideas going. Inspired by Cheryl, I decided to up my marketing game, something I’ve been neglecting for the past year.

Introducing my Hootsuite experiment.  For anyone not familiar with Hootsuite (like me up until very recently) it’s a free, online tool that schedules posts to your social media outlets. The beauty is that you can schedule posts a month, maybe more, in advance.  For post material I simply quoted from the reviews left for me on Amazon.  Here’s a sample:

Hootsuite Samples

I scheduled one post a day for the next week.  Each post has a short link to my book on Amazon.  After some initial brisk sales when it was released (#362,765 to #50,755 in two days) my book slowly slid down into the 800k range.  Now, as of this blog post, it sits at #883,547 Paid in Kindle Store.

I’ll be keeping track of it this week to see how these scheduled Hootsuite posts affect my sales on that one book, “End of Mae.”  To watch it for yourself, you can find it on Amazon, and if you help my experiment with shares of your own please let me know in the comments section and I’ll add it into my log.
