088When we got the Target Breakfast Challenge my teenagers groaned at the word challenge… until I started pulling out Nutella Mini-Cups and Trix cereal!  The race was on to create culinary masterpieces.

074I won’t say everything was a success.  One of my boys came up with Nutella and Jif peanut butter smeared on a plate and sprinkled with granola.  The other one decided that Trix was perfect as is and to be creative with it was a crime.  He said he was “a Trix purist.”

Cereal Jar 1I came up with something I love though.  Going off the idea of the salad in a jar concept, I put a scoop of powdered milk in the bottom of a wide mouth canning jar, took cereals and granola and layered them over the top and screwed on the lid.

Cereal Jar 2At work I just added water and a spoon and I had a fresh, delicious bowl of cereal for my break.  I will keep doing that and appreciate the Target Breakfast Twist challenge for the inspiration.

Breakfast has never been better!
