tore the veil for Jewel to pass.
She could not return.
Sorrow stopped his heart.
The hunchback joined the couple—
Death’s ménage à trois.
Jewel is an ongoing story told in haiku to celebrate Valentine’s Day, Women of Horror Month and National Haiku Month.
Read the previous Jewel haiku here.
